Detection of <i>Campylobacter coli</i> and <i>Campylobacter jejuni</i> in Fecal Samples From Domestics and Livestock Employees

Background: Campylobacter jejuni and coli are two zoonotic pathogens that commonly colonize the digestive tract of animal sources, including poultry, dogs, cats, other various domestic farm animals. Colonization can lead to acute bacterial gastroenteritis in humans after close contact with animals or through consumption contaminated food water. Objective: The present study aimed detect identify these bacteria fecal samples livestock employees. Materials Methods: A total 96 were collected, 48 sheep faces workers’ stool samples. DNA was extracted from samples, presence species investigated by polymerase chain reaction due detection specific marker genes. Results: Based on PCR hippuricase gene (hipO) aspartokinase (asp), C. found 7 (7.3%) 4 (4.2%) isolates. Analysis nucleotide sequences amolicons showed genetic similarity isolates a common center. Conclusion: Direct animal-to-human contamination seems unlikely. However, water sources products be potential risk human health.
